MEDIA ADVISORY – Leaders from government, First Nations, industry, and environmental groups gather in Ottawa for annual Boreal Awards

OTTAWA, November 22, 2010


National awards ceremony for those who have made outstanding contributions, innovative practices, and intense engagement for Canada’s Boreal Forest. National nominees in attendance include Chief Allan Adam of the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation, Cascades Fine Papers Group, First Nations Women Advocating Responsible Mining, Global Forest Watch Canada, and Suncor's mine reclamation team, among others. (Winners embargoed until Wednesday night).


Reception starts at Wednesday, November 24, 2010, 5:30 p.m.; awards ceremony starts at 8:00 p.m.

Members of the Boreal Leadership Council, Canadian Boreal Initiative, award finalists and winners. Guests also include senior government officials, Aboriginal and industry leaders, and representatives from conservation organizations.
